Trypsin-Like Immunoreactivity (TLI) – Canine

The Trypsin-Like Immunoreactivity (TLI) test is a specialized diagnostic tool used to assess pancreatic function in dogs, particularly to diagnose exocrine pancreatic insufficiency (EPI). TLI measures serum concentrations of trypsinogen and trypsin, enzymes produced by the pancreas, which are typically present at low levels in healthy dogs. Elevated TLI levels may indicate pancreatitis, while significantly reduced levels are indicative of EPI, a condition where the pancreas fails to produce sufficient digestive enzymes.
